In full
×4 is double, then double again: 7×4 → 7×2=14 → 28. ×3 is double, then one more lot: 7×3 → 14 + 7 = 21. Forgotten a fact? Rebuild it on the spot with these. Repeated addition, or knowing the table by heart, also works.
